Nice, I also chose Sanctifier to start with. Having played this daily, there are some improvements I'd like to see happen (again also considering the game is still beta): 1 – the party system is bad, it is too easy to be phased out from party members and happens too often, 2 – the number of summons when in a party is overwhelming, it's too difficult to tell what is yours, party or foe, 3 – porting when in a party feels clunky…there's much more, but so far I think they have done ok overall. What I do like is the devs seem to be listening to community feedback and have patches just about daily. I'll be watching to see how this game continues to evolve.
The game didnt grab me either. I tried, like the idea but the movement and combat was weird to me and the modeling/quests were meh. I tried the Necro.
The game is bad, its just worst than the competition
There's some tweaks I'm sure they'll make about teaching people how to use the tools in early game, which seemed to be a big problem at the beginning of open beta (i.e. the chat was filled with "How do you fast travel?" and "When can you make a party?") I think the biggest reason other games like this grab me and this one does less so, is they don't make big enough of a deal about drops. Your inventory is kind of hidden away and it doesn't feel like it's as big of a deal as other loot-based games, which is a HUGE part of endlessly grinding stuff like this. Even getting cards doesn't feel as intuitively rewarding.
It's kinda fun to play, but I never feel really drawn back into it.
Leave raid?
This game seems like a cash grab aimed at fans of Magic. Seems to be a common thing in games with a lot of these popular IPs nowadays, taking advantage of people who would basically play anything in their favorite franchises. This one is not even on mobile, and I think will lack the quality/polish to stand up to its competitors like Path of Exile even after Magic leaves beta. Or wait till Diablo Immortal and you can play a similar game on mobile too, with likely a less aggressive cash shop than Magic. Maybe this game gets better later, but I doubt it.
Day9, not a small name on twitch, tried it out to. And even him, as a huge magic gamer (the card game) did not like it. He even recommended to not get the game.
