  1. Honestly? Literally the ONLY thing that will ever stick with me about the Amico Intellivision is that it's supposed to have Earthworm Jim 4 as an exclusive? And even then if you've seen the trailer for that, there's just something that feels…off about it? Even if the game IS good, if the console is on flops, well there goes any chance of it being anywhere else I guess?

  2. There's a lot that went wrong with Magic: Legends but I can at least confirm that the exec leadership was at least forced out of the company for their part in overseeing the disaster. So there's that… maybe more stories will come out some day..

  3. I'm so glad all of Canada is being respectful to the aw- Bahaha. As if Alberta would cancel a nationalistic celebration. We are having fireworks… And pretending they are for a memorial.

  4. Canada Day: Celebrating a country that commits Literal Genocide against children.
Bidoof Day: Celebrating a fictional animal that children can use to beat up other animals.

Why yes I'll take the lesser of two evils thanks.

  5. Beej… Why are you so worked up about piracy for games which aren't sold anymore?

I like the look of the cartridge reader for archiving purposes. I could pull my hours of Pokemon playing when I was 12 into a personal backup and that's cool!

  6. Cryptic let all 40 employees go???
That's horrible, some of those people were vets of star trek online who joined the project to help get it off the ground. What a waste of time and talent.

  7. Great take on the amico. Also, tommy never apologized. He just said I am an emotional person and something my emotions get the best of me. He never said I am sorry to Sam M

  8. Yeah. This thing is gonna fail, and nobody's going to be happy about it, unless these criteria move. Biggest sticking point is this $10 cap. With how expensive modern game development is, it's going to be basically impossible for any major player to make any kind of money. Especially not if they desire exclusives. So, what you're more likely to get is some poor unknown indies trying to break into the business with a passion project, or cutting corners like it's crunch time at the circle factory. This isn't going to end well.

  9. Yep, the only way a new "Intellivision" or "Atari" console makes sense is if it's pretty (point goes to Atari, nailed it), has all the first party and most of the popular third-party games the system was best-known for, and comes in at ~$150-200 including two controllers. The original Atari VCS/2600 and Intellivision weren't created in an era when the home console experience was the reference gaming experience, it was when you couldn't, didn't want to, or couldn't afford to go to the arcade for the reference gaming experience – the coin-op and modern pinball games of the late 70's and early 80's. Any retro remake that doesn't get that doesn't understand its audience and the market.

  10. A Game Boy Transfer Pak for my personal computer!? Oh boy oh boy, looks like I won't need a GB Printer for my GB Camera or my Pokémon Crystal Diploma after all!

  11. Regarding Magic: Legends, members of the leadership team in charge of the game have actually stepped down and are no longer at the company so they haven't kept their jobs among the layoffs.

For alpha feedback, the entire equipment system was implemented based on player feedback along with large amounts of iteration on the tutorial and Tazeem intro sequence based on feedback around the spell hand and other game features. There were absolutely big problems we weren't able to address before open beta the reports that we didn't react at all to alpha feedback are untrue.

I'm glad you enjoyed it when you did play and it was great seeing you guys play the game during the pre-release period and getting a chance to chat with you about the game (Hi I'm NAH) as I've been a fan of LoadingReadyRun for a long time so I'm really glad you guys got to experience the game before it died.

  12. The Amico was the case of a person in a business suit taking a single glance at the gaming industry and thought "Simple mobile games are making the most money" and doesn't realise that the people who buy consoles, and the people who put money into phone games, are two completely different demographics.
